Back in the U-district October 31, 2006

Safeco moved offices this week so I am back in the U-district. I like it actually, while I will miss the feeling of going to work with the big-wigs of the tech center of Bellevue, it’s a shorter commute to the U-district, I know all the places to eat, more busses, it’s just familiar and I manage to stay away from campus in an area by my old apartment that is usually pretty tame. Work is better, I’ve finally gotten to the point where I’m ready to expand my plate, do some harder stuff that I have no idea what to do with. Not sure it will help me get a better position but, it can’t hurt and it gives me more experience, so that’s good either way. Still looking for somewhere to move to, not sure if it’ll still be to Bellevue, that commute really did suck. Probably looking towards the areas west of Wallingford, maybe Ballard.

It started off okay, but as the day goes on it really adds up, and the amount of stuff you need to know and remember, well it gets a bit overwhelming. I got a job doing Tech Support at the Safeco campus in Redmond, it’s a pretty sweet gig. The campus is awesome, definitely big time, their own Starbucks, salon, and everything, I make a good dollar amount and the hours aren’t so bad. Lots of passwords, names of people, procedures, training videos, ID Badges, appointments, and other things swimming through my head, and I’m trying to remember why people don’t have energy to do anything else with their lives. However, I did manage to make it out to eat dinner and buy Bully, since Jen is on a business trip to Spokane. I predict I pass out during Friday Night Lights, which to me is funny, because it airs Tuesday.
Heroes is terrible, so is Friday Night Lights October 9, 2006

The new show Hero’s on NBC… is terrible. I am not happy about it, I don’t think alot of people who were excited about the idea of a comic super hero television show wanted it to be this.
I keep trying to like it, but don’t believe the ads they pump out every week during prime time about being a great number one hit TV show, it really is terrible. Now the idea for the show, great, but of course the execution is poor. In specific, the acting is just… bleh which is probably 50% the actors fault and the other half the writing. A great concept still needs some decent dialogue to keep people strung along between the special effects. I heard on some pod cast that it’s all about shock value, and really that’s all it is, just stringing the audience out for as long as possible, despite the many moments in-between that make you want to cringe.
