Exploring Portland

I lived across from Portland for the majority of my life and I never spent any time there. Aside from buying things without tax at Best Buy or the occasional stop over in Jantzen Beach, we never ventured into the “big city”.

This last weekend we’ve been scouting out locations for our friends to possibly relocate to in Portland. It’s the perfect city for them and after seeing 23rd Street, NE portland, down town, it solidifies what I felt during our Worst Day of the Year Bike Ride about Portland. It has everything I like about Seattle, but the people love their down. The sense of community is far greater and the pace of life is just a bit more mellow.

If our plans go well, next weekend they all will fall in love with the North West and Portland, and sometime as soon as September we would move to Portland ourselves.
