A Brief Warm Up March 2, 2006

Today during my work shift here at the Microlab, amongst handing out head phones and directions to the bathroom to the bright young medical students here at the University of Washington Medical Center Library, I have the pleasure of writing a 5 page paper on Shakesperian tragedy. In specific, I will be discussing the role of women and to what extent that role plays out in the tragic experience. Of the various paper topics, this one seemed to be the only one I could muster a discernable thesis worth defending based on the knowledge I have of the plays we have read in class. However, because my guild wanted to down Nefarian at all costs last night, I was unable to put more then a brief 3 paragraph rough draft down on paper. I’m taking this post as a warm up exercise to hopefully hone in on my clarity of prose. Brevity is another important factor for a paper of this size, as it is quite easy to go over board when you think that an extra 2 pages over the limit might score you that extra 0.2 grade points. I haven’t honestly done 3 hours of work consecutively all week, so if I can pull that out of my hat today, then all will be saved and this week may not have been a complete waste. Good luck to all those procrastanators out there, may we finish quickly and completely.
Weekend in Vancouver wrap up February 6, 2006

Well getting down to Vancouver was easy, if you consider it took about 5 hours from the point of leaving the apartment to the station where my parents picked me up. The bus was 20 minutes late so our plan to meet on the bus and have dinner together before I left at Ouijimaya. By the time we got to the end of the line, we had about 10 minutes to consume our steaming bowls of Pho, which I heartily do not recommend eating in that sort of time frame, and get into the station to grab my ticket. Since I reserved my seats so late, I didn’t get to grab business class seats.

Within about 10 minutes of posting I bit them off and it was so good. And since I have done nearly no work, slept for several hours and have an Italian Midterm tomorrow… ARGH
Colorblind January 18, 2006

Dear CocaCola Inc,
I would like for your company to help me in forming an organization devoted to promoting the awareness of Colorblindedness and the detection of it’s symptoms. I ask this of your company because for perhaps the 4th time this quarter, whoever you’ve employed to fill the Powerade vending machine in the HUB cannot tell the difference between Orange and Green, and perhaps other colors as well as I have only tried purchasing the Green Squall. I say this because when I go to purchase a Green Squall Powerade, I get Orange. I don’t really enjoy your Orange Powerade, it taste like flat Orange soda, and was expecting the ever exciting Green Squall. On second thought, it could also be that your employee is in fact colorblind but too ashamed to share that he or she is also illiterate and cannot use that to help distinguish which of your fine beverages are which. Or perhaps they personally hate Green Squall and wish to take out their hostility on your customers. Regardless of which, I think that if we work together we can find a solution to this problem which will result in me being able to buy Green Squall Powerade instead of the Orange.
I hope that we can work together to help make this dream a reality.
